Info-Tech Research Group Names Flexiant Leading Innovator for Second Year and Value Award Winner

Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator is recognized with the Value Award in Info-Tech Research Group's Vendor Landscape: Cloud Management Platform

London, UK - 6 March 2014 - For the second year in a row, Flexiant has achieved the highest product innovation score among ten vendors evaluated by Info-Tech Research Group's Vendor Landscape: Cloud Management Platforms and was awarded the Value Award.

Info-Tech evaluated ten competitors in the cloud management market including Abiquo, CA Technologies, Citrix, Eucalyptus, Flexiant, InContinuum, Microsoft, OpenStack, Virtustream and VMware. Each vendor was assessed on features, usability, affordability, architecture, viability, strategy, reach and channel.

Flexiant maintained the highest Info-Tech Value Score™ of the vendor group scoring 100, well above the average score of 36. Vendors were indexed against Flexiant's performance to provide a complete, relative view of their product offerings. Flexiant was rated exemplary as a product in usability, affordability and architecture.

Info-Tech called Flexiant a proven product, firmly entrenched as a leading incumbent in the cloud management platform (CMP) space with Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator. The report reads, "Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator is a complete solution, offering significant flexibility and ease-of-use at a very reasonable cost…With roots in the service provider market, Flexiant targets service providers in Europe, and has exceptional dashboard customization, and integrated billing capabilities."

John Sloan, Lead Consulting Analyst said, "Everything IT is shifting to the cloud - and the rate of this shift is accelerating. Utilization of the right CMP will enable affordable, and efficient management of cloud assets."

Sloan additionally commented in a recent blog, "Flexiant is the relative David to the VMware Goliath. Geographic reach has been noted as a key challenge for Flexiant but the company has been aggressively pursuing wider markets this year. Since the report was released, Flexiant has overcome that challenge. Flexiant is broadening its global reach with the announcement that Parallels is now a global reseller of Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator. The agreement gives Flexiant an opportunity to expand its North American presence while it gives Parallels competitive ammunition against VMware, which offers service providers and enterprises cloud orchestration and management with vCloud."

"Receiving this recognition for the second year of this report is testament to Flexiant's ability to arm the service providers with a comprehensive array of functionality to solve their cloud management problems, at an excellent price," said George Knox, CEO, Flexiant. "If you are assessing cloud management solutions, you need to start with the most innovative and highest rated product in the market."

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
The explosion of new web/cloud/IoT-based applications and the data they generate are transforming our world right before our eyes. In this rush to adopt these new technologies, organizations are often ignoring fundamental questions concerning who owns the data and failing to ask for permission to conduct invasive surveillance of their customers. Organizations that are not transparent about how their systems gather data telemetry without offering shared data ownership risk product rejection, regu...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.

Enterprises have taken advantage of IoT to achieve important revenue and cost advantages. What is less apparent is how incumbent enterprises operating at scale have, following success with IoT, built analytic, operations management and software development capabilities - ranging from autonomous vehicles to manageable robotics installations. They have embraced these capabilities as if they were Silicon Valley startups.
As IoT continues to increase momentum, so does the associated risk. Secure Device Lifecycle Management (DLM) is ranked as one of the most important technology areas of IoT. Driving this trend is the realization that secure support for IoT devices provides companies the ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, secure offerings faster, create new revenue streams, and reduce support costs, all while building a competitive advantage in their markets.
